Membership
Membership Categories
All full members of ACPAT must be annually subscribing full practising members of the CSP. Those members practising physiotherapy on humans must be registered with the HPC. Category A and Category B members are required to have Professional & Public Liability Indemnity in order to practise on animals.
There are differing categories of membership:
Category A Membership
Category A membership is available to Chartered Physiotherapists who have through supervised clinical training and/or postgraduate qualification demonstrated competence in the administration of physiotherapy to animals via a recognised ACPAT upgrading route.
Category A members working exclusively with animals are not required to be HPC registered.
This category is restricted to residents of the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man who have completed a recognised ACPAT upgrading route.
Please click here for information about recognised ACPAT upgrading routes prior to 2009.
Category B Membership
Category B membership is available to members who meet one of the following:
Criteria 1
- Chartered Physiotherapists resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and do not qualify for classification under Category A.
Criteria 2
